Project Update - Ecole Maternelle Protective Wall
Introduction:
We are pleased to provide an update on the ongoing project to build a protective wall around Ecole Maternelle, a vital educational institution in our community. This project has been a collaborative effort between the non-profit organization, the local community, and various stakeholders, like the local school board. The objective is to enhance the safety and well-being of the students while also creating opportunities for play and potential gardening projects.
Community Involvement:
The decision to build the protective wall was initiated by the local community and school authorities, who recognized the need for a secure and conducive environment for the children's activities. A participatory approach was adopted in the project's planning and design phase. Community members actively engaged in the decision-making process, providing valuable input on the design and functionality of the wall.
Key Features of the Protective Wall:
The protective wall surrounding Ecole Maternelle is a significant addition to the school's infrastructure. It has been carefully designed to serve multiple purposes:
1. Safety: The primary purpose of the wall is to ensure the safety of the children. It provides a secure boundary, safeguarding them from external risks and dangers. The village can have fast moving carts and also the earth is prone to be embedded with thorns. Having accessed these and other risks, the village felt the wisest path forward was to equip the school with a protective boundary for the children.
2. Ample Play Space: The wall design incorporates a spacious yard within the school premises, offering children ample space for recreational experience and play. This form of space promotes physical activity, social interaction, and the overall well-being of the students.
3. Micro Gardening Projects: A key feature of the wall is its potential for micro gardening projects. A portion of the wall could be designed to accommodate vertical gardens, allowing students to engage in educational and sustainable gardening activities. This would not only fosters a connection to nature but also promotes environmental awareness.
Construction Details:
The protective wall project is currently in the construction phase. The wall is being constructed using more than 15 tons of high-quality cement and sand, ensuring its durability and longevity. The construction team is working diligently to meet safety standards and ensure the project's timely completion.
Project Progress:
As of the latest update, all of the sand-cement brick were made and construction is progressing on schedule. We anticipate the protective wall to be completed within the next month. Regular inspections and quality checks are being carried out by the team of masons and third-parties to maintain high standards of construction quality.
Future Plans:
Once the protective wall is completed, we plan to engage the students and the local community in the micro gardening projects. These initiatives will not only beautify the school premises but also serve as valuable learning experiences for the children, teaching them about sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.
Conclusion:
The Ecole Maternelle protective wall project is a testament to the power of community collaboration and the commitment of our non-profit organization to creating safe and nurturing environments for the next generation. We look forward to the successful completion of this project and the positive impact it will have on the children and the community at large.
